Course description: The workshop highlights important fundamentals of product development. Product development is usually carried out exclusively using the finished size chart. The pattern, on the other hand, is created by the supplier. The challenge in separating the finished size chart and the pattern is that style adjustments are made using the finished size chart, and the pattern is then created by the supplier. Nevertheless, the basics of pattern design techniques must be mastered and taken into account when working with the measurement table.
If one measurement is changed, the other measurements that depend on it must also be changed. If these dependencies are not taken into account, this can lead to significant fit problems because the supplier is forced to implement specifications from an incorrect finished measurement table.
This workshop explains the relationships between finished size tables, patterns, gradings and fabric. Using various examples of women's and men's clothing, it shows how finished size tables must be created when developing and grading clothing products. Solutions, challenges and limitations are highlighted.
Participants will have the opportunity to submit a garment for common fit analysis. Results and solutions will be presented and discussed in the practical part of the workshop. However, this is only an offer and not a prerequisite for participation in the workshop.
