Holistic view of the environmental impact of discharged textile fibers during washing

The test method DIN SPEC 4872 is a standardized procedure for determining the potential environmental impact of released fibres of natural and synthetic origin during textile laundry. Dynamic image analysis is used to record the release of fibers from textiles during the washing process. In addition, biodegradability in wastewater and ecotoxicity of the fibers are tested.
