Webcast Color fastness to washing

The test for fastness to laundering examines the resistance of dyes and prints on textiles to domestic laundry.

The colour fastness against washing should be tested for all coloured textiles that are intended to be washed. It should be noted that, in addition to the main materials, the components that have been processed in small quantities are also tested. If the colours are not resistant to wash treatments, the textiles will, for a start, lose their dye very quickly and fade. Released dye may also transfer to other textiles.
